Loan agreement of €100 million between the Development Bank of Turkey and the European Investment Bank

European Investment Bank’s credit of €100 million will be allocated by our Bank.

The mentioned loan agreement of €100 million between our Bank and European Investment Bank was signed on June 8th, 2009.

The signing ceremony of the EIB’s SME-Promoting Loan Agreement of €400million took place at Swiss Hotel in Ankara, in presence of the Under-secretariat of Treasury as guarantor, our Bank and other mediator banks.

Within the scope of meeting the financing requirements of the SMEs in our country, the European Investment Bank is allocating loans which are obtained through global loan agreements with different mediator banks. Our Bank which has been in contact with the European Investment Bank since 2002 allocated a total credit of €99.799.720 via loan agreements concluded in the context of Industrial Sector Global IV Project, Global Credit V Project, SME-Promoting Credit and EIB Energy and Environment Credit.

Besides, other credits will be allocated to SMEs which belong to sectors not restricted by EIB and EU. These are production and service sectors such as: industry, tourism, health, education, information technologies and energy. For non-SME public and private sectors, the loans will be given for domestic and external financing of the priority sectors determined by the European Investment Bank.

The amount to be allocated to each firm comes to €12.500.000 or its equivalent in US dollar whereby the minimum term at project base will be 2 years.

Supporting the SMEs in all fields, our Bank will continue to assist investors in sectors such as industry, tourism, health, education, information technologies and energy through further loan agreements.
