Capacity Building Training Program for Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank(SDRB) has been organized together with ADFIMI on 17-28 October, 2016
A capacity building training program on “Development Banking: Concepts & Practices” on 17-28 October, 2016 for a group of seven executives from Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank (SDRB) and 11 junior experts of the Bank has been organized by Development Bank of Turkey (DBT-Türkiye Kalkınma Bankası A.Ş.) and ADFIMI Association of National Development Finance Institutions in Member Countries of Islamic Development Bank. The program was carried out by DBT staff in the Banks’s premises and co-sponsored by Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency(TIKA).
This comprehensive training program aimed to contribute to the institutional capacity of SDRB and designed to enhance their knowledge in the areas of development banking, feasibility analysis and project cycle management. Work visits to TIKA, Ankara Development Agency and OSTIM Organized Industrial Region were also organized to provide networking opportunities for the participants.
A certificate and closing ceremony was held in the Bank Training Hall with the participation of Deputy General Director Bahattin Sekkin and Deputy General Director Zekai Işıldar, Nuri Birtek Secretary General of ADFIMI, Halil İbrahim Okur Program Coordinator of TIKA and Suleiman Mohamed Karshe Counsellor of Embassy of Somali Federal Republic –Ankara and all participants and trainers of the program.
Development Bank of Turkey, which is the only state owned development bank in Turkey, has been providing strong contributions to Turkey’s economic development and growth since its establishment in 1975. The Bank also considers technical assistance and consultancy projects provided to national development banks as another major institutional growth and learning area and pleased to collaborate with ADFIMI, TIKA and IDB in this capacity building program to share its knowledge and more than 40 years of development banking experience with SDRB.
